Oh my goodness.
My cousin is researching the family as well (yay!) and had a picture of my great-grandmother, Berdia. It’s so nice to see a face of this legendary woman besides just a grave. I must say that Berdia looks… funky. I am not sure how old she was in the photo.

edit: sorry pics 1 & 4 are sideways. i don’t think i can fix it. boo. and p.s. if any one can tell me what exactly the graveyard cactus stuff is that would be amazing.

How do you clean graves? Or even gravesites? How about a combination of both in abandoned graveyards??

Last month I went back home and with my mom and fiance took numerous photos of my ancestors at three different cementaries. But at all three, the graves were dirty, cactus was everywhere, graves were sunken… What can I do? I don’t want my ancestors graves to look like this. They don’t deserve this. But one of the graveyards is no longer maintained.

So how can I clean up the graves?

Summer Days

All of these were taken in the summer of 1993.

The girl named Katrina in the first photo was my childhood best friend, who sadly moved away about a year after this was taken. I only saw her one time afterwards, at her mother’s second wedding. I still wonder where she is today.

The second photo with my father is special. I remember because my father NEVER got in the pool with us. So when he did this one time my mom snapped some pictures (have only found this one so far).

The last three I am pretty sure were taken the same day. My brother was/is a camera hog. lol. I remembered swimming up to the edge of the pool so my mom could take a picture of me in the second to last picture.

It only takes a moment to reblog this….
It would mean a lot to her family and friends
